At Child’s Play Early Learning Centre, a key part of our family is our surrounding community. We love to support local initiatives and bring the community into our services. Being active in the community allows our children to experience new things and have a greater understanding of their world. We believe that by giving back to the community, they too will support us in our initiatives.
As a part of being active in the community, some of our centres are equipped with multi-purpose rooms that we invite the community to use. Some activities that have been held in our Torquay facility include:
If you are interested in booking the multi-purpose rooms for community events please contact your local Child’s Play service to check on availability; there is no cost associated with booking this room, but we do expect our community to treat the room with respect.
Local primary schools are a key part of our community and we believe it’s important for our children to familiarise themselves with their new environments post childcare. We work closely with the local schools to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible and with almost no tears.
In terms 3 and 4, our kinder teachers work with our parents and local schools to arrange school visits and help them settle into the new environment.
In our communities, we also support a variety of local initiatives and organisations such as sports teams, local food banks, community markets, and other small businesses. At our Tarneit centre, our children love when Little Sports Heroes comes to visit and introduce new and fun games for them to play. In Torquay recently our families participated in Clean Up Australia Day.
We know that being a parent or guardian can be go go go. But at Child’s Play Early Learning Centre, we like to take care of the whole family, not just your child. In most of our centres, we have a coffee machine and some snacks as per our menu that you can grab on the go in the morning when you drop off your child.
