Are the spaces at Child’s Play Tarneit designed for play-based learning?

At our early learning centre, we see children as capable, curious learners, drawing inspiration from the Reggio Emilia philosophy to create a meaningful learning experience every day. Our thoughtfully designed play spaces, often known as the “third teacher,” are filled with open-ended materials that encourage thinking, language, creativity, and confidence.

Our team works closely with each child to intentionally plan opportunities for learning and development across our seven curriculum areas:

  • Creative Arts

  • Science & Technology

  • Child-Led Routine

  • Foundations of Learning (early literacy and numeracy)

  • Planning & Design

  • Children Within Nature

  • We Are The World (diversity and First Nations perspectives)

Through carefully arranged toys, resources, and environments, we help children build strong foundations in problem-solving, collaboration, independence, and school readiness. Best of all, every learning experience is designed to be so engaging and enjoyable that children are having fun while they learn.

How does Child’s Play Tarneit promote diversity and inclusion?

Our centres are proud to celebrate every child’s culture. Many of our educators are multilingual and come from diverse backgrounds themselves. They often communicate with children in their home languages and help families feel truly at home.

In instances where our educators can’t speak your child’s home language, we’ll learn key phrases and create visual supports, like flashcards, to help your child feel at ease.

We also celebrate cultural events, including NAIDOC Week, Diwali, Holi, Ramadan, and Eid. With a multicultural menu and activities that celebrate the different parts of the world, Child’s Play fosters a deep respect for diversity and a sense of belonging for each child.

My daughter has been at Child’s Play for a year now. I can’t fault it one bit and I’m extremely happy. I love how the educators create a partnership between care and home. They create goals to work towards and involve families in this process. Child’s Play uses a very interactive app that gives daily information about toileting, food, sunscreen application and sleep. On top of this, they provide an update on what they did for the day and send photos, just what every parent wants to see when they leave their children. They went above and beyond with end of year presents and made orientation into new rooms a breeze.
