A Family-Owned Childcare which puts Family First
As parents ourselves, we understand that choosing a childcare provider is an important decision and an extensive process. Our Tarneit West centre is family-owned and operated and our team takes the time to get to know your family, culture, values and routines to assist in the transition to childcare. It is extremely important to us that every family’s needs are met and the child is engaged in their learning which is why we actively engage with our Tarneit West community and our families to provide new opportunities and experiences.

What is included at Childs Play ELC?
We cater to children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. Children attending can look forward to a full menu including breakfast, morning tea, a two-course lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. Our in-house chef is trained to provide nutritious and delicious meals while staying aware of allergies and dietary requirements.
Our daily fee includes everything that your child requires for their day including nappies, sunscreen, meals and milk. We ask that you bring a bag or backpack for your child along with a drink bottle for water that they can drink from with minimal or no assistance. Your child will be allocated a locker to keep their belongings in. Your fee also includes incursions such as Little Sports Heroes and Happy Feet.
Our Philosophy in Practice
We embody our philosophy of Every Child Matters to provide the best learning environment for our children. Our service goes above and beyond legal requirements by having at least five educators working in our rooms and providing children with the option of indoor and outdoor play. Our curriculums provide children with opportunities to explore their interests and our dedicated kinder program prepares children for school and is led by a fully qualified kindergarten teacher.

Your Centre Managers: Teena Beri and Caitlin Phillips
Hi my name is Teena Beri and I am the Centre Manager at Tarneit West. I have been working in the childcare industry since 2008. I joined child’s play in 2014 and I believe it was one of the best decisions I took. At Child’s Play, I got to work in an environment that help me to grow, learn and upgrade my skills.
Working with children is my passion and is a rewarding job as you bring a change in little people’s lives. Working in childcare gives you lots of opportunities to learn and grow and each day I learn something new whether it’s from my colleagues or the children I teach.
What is something you love?
I love spending time with my husband, my 5year old daughter and my Dog. One of my favourite things to do in my spare time is calling my family who live overseas, go shopping, cook and listen to music.
How would you describe Child’s Play ELC?
My passion for children and bringing change into their lives has brought me into early childhood education. Child’s Play gave me that opportunity where I grow from Room leader to Centre manager. I love my job and I couldn’t be happier than working at Child’s Play ELC. Sam and Ian are one of the best bosses one could ever think of. They don’t run a business; they are actually extending their family in the childhood sector. They keep you motivated and are great support all the time.
Hi, my name is Caitlin Phillips and I am the Operations Manager where I provide support and guidance to all of the centres. I have experienced almost every role whilst working at Child’s Play, undergoing upskilling of my qualifications as well as working in different roles in my 7 years with the organisation. One of my most recent roles was being the Centre Manager for the Tarneit West Centre and I particularly enjoyed working with the children in a variety of age groups, as both an assistant educator and room leader.
What is something you love?
I love playing sport! I am pretty active and generally play sport about 5 times every week.
How would you describe Child’s Play ELC?
Child’s Play ELC embodies family. We are a family for our children, we are a family for our community and a family for our staff. It is all about that loving atmosphere for everyone involved.
Watching the children’s personalities develop is so exciting from babies to kindergarten, they develop so much and their cheekiness and enjoyment shine throughout.
