What are incursions?
Think of them as excursions, but in the classroom. Incursions are specially organised events and activities that bring enriching, ‘real-world’ experiences to your child.
Children learn more when they’re engaged, active, and having fun. Here are just some of the benefits of incursions for early childhood development:
- They build confidence. Trying something new is a lot less daunting when you’re surrounded by familiar faces.
- They spark curiosity. New sights, sounds, and textures encourage children to ask questions and think in fresh ways.
- They develop real skills. From fine motor strength in the kitchen to emotional regulation on the yoga mat.
- They create memories. Don’t be surprised if it’s the first thing they tell you at pick-up!
