Reduce your fees with childcare subsidies

To help give you a clear idea, here’s a general guide to daily fees before subsidies.

Session HourTimesGrace PeriodCost per Day
Full time rate (10 hours)07:30- 17.301 hour either side$155.00
12 Hrs06:30 -18:30n/a$155.00

Most families are eligible for government support that significantly lowers childcare fees. Here’s how it works.

The 3-day childcare subsidy

As of January 2026, eligible families receive at least 3 days per week (72 hours per fortnight) of subsidised childcare, regardless of work or study hours.

Most families earning under $533,280 qualify, and it’s applied automatically if you already receive the Child Care Subsidy.

Find out more about the 3-Day Guarantee subsidy.

Free Kinder initiative for 3 and 4-year-olds

If your child is enrolled in our Truganina kindergarten program, you’ll save even more with Free Kinder:

  • 3-year-old kinder: Save between $700 and $2,101 per year
  • 4-year-old kinder: Save $2,101 per year

And yes, the subsidies stack! The 3-day childcare subsidy applies first, then Free Kinder reduces your fees further. It all happens automatically on your invoice.

Our Truganina team can walk you through eligibility and make sure you’re accessing every cent you’re entitled to.

What’s included in your fee at Child’s Play Truganina

We include the everyday essentials in our fees because we believe quality childcare shouldn’t come with a side of surprise invoices.

A healthy, delicious menu with no budget limits

No need to bring a lunchbox!

Our in-house chefs prepare breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, and a late snack every day using fresh ingredients. We follow a rotating seasonal menu, so meals stay interesting and nutritious.

Dietary requirements? We’ve got you covered. Just let us know what your child needs, and we’ll make it work.

Water, milk, and fruit are always available for children to serve themselves (with help from our educators if they need it).

All the essentials: nappies, sunscreen + more

At Child’s Play Truganina, we provide all the most essential items. We just ask that you bring a bag or backpack and a water bottle for your child. We’ll provide a locker to keep their special things safe.

Inclusive care and special celebrations

Truganina is one of Melbourne’s most diverse and vibrant communities, and our centre reflects that. Our educators come from multicultural backgrounds and speak multiple languages, helping children and families feel genuinely at home.

We celebrate the cultures represented in our centre through food, stories, and special events like Diwali, Holi, Ramadan, and NAIDOC Week.

Long day care – more learning, more flexibility

Unlike sessional childcare that runs for a few hours, we operate long day care at each of our centres. That means your child gets up to 37.5 hours per week with qualified educators and kindergarten teachers

What this means for your child: Extended time to build friendships, explore interests, and develop confidence in a supportive environment. They get the same government-approved curriculum as sessional childcare and kinder, just with more time to learn and grow!

What this means for your family: Flexible hours (6:30am–6:30pm) that fit real working schedules. Parents are less likely to need to juggle separate kinder and childcare drop-offs.
