Childcare Centres in
Melbourne's Western Suburbs & the Bellarine

Quality childcare for children 6 weeks to 6 years of age.

Child’s Play Early Learning Centres in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs & the Bellarine, Victoria

Child’s Play Early Learning Centres are family-owned community-driven childcare centres delivering exceeding childcare services as awarded by the Department of Education. Our directors, Sam and Ian Johnson have been working in education for more than 20 years and are dedicated to providing every child with high-quality early child care education. Our play-based learning approaches allow us to provide our children with opportunities, real-world experiences and lifelong friendships.

We have four locations located in TarneitTarneit West, Wyndham Vale and Torquay, and each centre delivers a unique learning experience to children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.

Our Philosophy

Why Child’s Play Early Learning Centres?

We know there are lots of early learning centres to choose from, but Child’s Play ELC is special; it is our family delivering high-quality education to your family. Here is why you should choose a Child’s Play ELC facility.

Play-based learning

We don’t just take on one learning approach but in all of our centres we are dedicated to providing play-based learning not only because our children love it but also because it is the foundation to become confident lifelong learners.

Indoor Outdoor Facilities

Our spaces are purpose-built and designed to support indoor and outdoor learning. We have an open-door policy, and we encourage children to play both inside and outside throughout the day.

Family Owned

Our centres are run by local educators and are owned by Sam and Ian, and we are parents ourselves, so we understand the challenges you face when putting your child into childcare. We want to assure you that at our centres, we create an environment that is safe, nurturing and welcoming so your child can just be themselves.

Every Child Matters

We believe every child deserves the opportunity to receive a high-quality education. We carry out our philosophy of Every Child Matters through our curriculum, our educators and our relationships with the community, environment and our families.

Family-Owned, Community-Driven Early Learning Centres

At Child’s Play ELC, no two days are the same. Our educators work hard to provide new activities each day that support your child’s interests. Alongside providing new activities we have an active involvement in the community and with local organisations, including with local schools and charities. Our children thoroughly enjoy their regular excursions to the likes of the library, the community gardens and the beach, and we love that the community chooses to be a part of our Child’s Play family.

Child’s Play ELC is different from other childcare centres because we are family owned and run. Our owners, Sam and Ian, have two daughters themselves and have been in your situation before when facing the choice of choosing the right childcare centre. It is what propelled them to open Child’s Play, a childcare centre designed to feel like a second home for all children. In March 2021, Sam received Lalor’s Business Women of Year from Joanne Ryan MP for her dedication and commitment to providing quality, family orientated child care throughout 2020 and all its challenges.

While attending my girls have made some amazing memories and great relationships. I would highly recommend this centre to everyone in the area.

Torquay

By far the best medium-sized childcare and early learning centre in the area - and I looked at all of them before joining! The staff are well trained, and genuinely put the children first in terms of their social and educational learning. It's been a tough time with covid, etc, but the Childs Play Torquay team have kept us safe and well informed. After almost a year and a half there now, I can honestly say the staff are part of our extended family. The kids love it as much as I do. I totally rate them all the stars and 15/10. Well done to managers, admin, catering and teachers

Torquay

This place is not just a daycare service it’s a second home and a second family to my 2 year old. They staff are encouraging, caring and supportive to the kids and their families and the learning that takes place is above and beyond what I ever expected.
Janessa Baumgartner

Tarneit

My daughter has been at Child’s Play for a year now. I can’t fault it one bit and I’m extremely happy. I love how the educators create a partnership between care and home. They create goals to work towards and involve families in this process. Child’s Play uses a very interactive app that gives daily information about toileting, food, sunscreen application and sleep. On top of this, they provide an update on what they did for the day and send photos, just what every parent wants to see when they leave their children. They went above and beyond with end of year presents and made orientation into new rooms a breeze.
